This traditional spiritual arrangement of “Down By the Riverside” by Robert T. Gibson is a new favorite of mine. The melody is catchy and the harmonies are accessible for developing choirs. It is particularly helpful to introduce this piece by starting with the section at m.36. The layerable melodies make for immediate, satisfying music-making.
