Student Chapter – Concordia Moorhead

For more information about what we are up to, check our Instagram @concordia_acda or our Facebook @ConcordiaCollegeACDA.The student-led chapter here at Concordia-Moorhead is thriving this year, with regular meetings with topics including: The Ins and Outs of Music Directing, a Student Teacher Panel, What They Don’t Tell You About Teacher Contracts, Recruitment Strategies, community bonding events like kickball, sight-reading and root beer floats, and, of course, the attendance of the Minnesota ACDA state conference. We also have an end-of-the-year recital: Concordia ACDA Chamber Voices, that showcases our student vocal ensembles here on campus, which we are looking forward to.

With over 50 current members on our mailing list, the ACDA chapter is flourishing here at Concordia. We have passionate representatives from every class, there is a growing community for music educators. The enthusiasm of our new and current ACDA members bring immense hope for continuing this chapter growth.

Our executive board has been working hard to meet the needs of the future music educators at Concordia. Executive members include: Martin Gregoire ‘26 (President), Elena Pluim ‘25 (Vice President), Jillian Jaros ‘27 (Treasurer), Carly Comstock ‘27 (Events Coordinator), and Katharine Lathe ‘27 (Publicity Coordinator). The faculty advisors are Dr. Michael Culloton and Dr. Joseph Kemper. We are looking forward to more enlightening years with ACDA-MN and within our student chapter.

About Katharine Lathe

Katharine (Kate) Lathe is a sophomore BM Vocal Music Education student at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. On campus, she participates in many extracurricular ensembles and leadership positions. Including her position as Publicity Coordinator for Concordia’s ACDA student chapter, she is also involved in leadership on the Concordia Choir board as their First Year Representative. Some ensembles that Kate participates in on campus are: the Concordia Choir, Tactus, the Concordia Jazz Singers (SA section leader), and the worship team. Kate is also an active member of ACDA-MN, attending the past two Summer Dialogues and Fall Conferences with Concordia Moorhead.
