This piece explores identity and self love. This piece came out of the experiences of composer Coty Raven Morris had and her students in the Fall 2020 as the students were grappling with the effects of the pandemic and civil unrest in American society. She explains:
“In our time of focus on our building of community and citizenship, this text and tune came to mind- each phrase highlighting an element of personal and community wellness.”

The text reads:
I lead with my spirit keeping love in the circle around me,
Expressing my spirit loving what I can see and cannot see.
I take care of the vessel I’m in, I love the me that’s under this skin,
Taking care of my mind, envisioning the me I want to be.
