Donor Spotlight…Daryl Timmer

Daryl Timmer (L) received the Choral Director of the Year award at the 2025 State Conference from Mark Johnson (R).

When did you make your first donation to ACDA-MN?

My first donation was most likely in the summer of 2002 while attending Summer Dialogue. I had just completed my first year of teaching at Woodbury High School.

Why is it so important for you to contribute to ACDA-MN?

I contribute because I believe deeply in the mission of ACDA-MN. Over the years, I have been privileged to serve in the organization’s leadership, participate in its various programs, and witness its growth as it has thoughtfully responded to the challenges of a changing choral landscape.

My investment in ACDA-MN is rooted in its ongoing vision and commitment to supporting the choral community. I can also say with confidence that the support I have received from the organization and its members has been invaluable, playing a significant role in my growth and success as a music educator.

What is one part of ACDA-MN’s future that excites you?

I am excited by ACDA-MN’s openness to meaningful change in response to the evolving needs of choral directors and singers across the state, and by our continued commitment as an organization to growth and ongoing improvement.

SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE INVESTMENT POLICY

ACDA-MN leadership, overseeing the FMC Endowment Fund and the Alice T. Larsen Memorial Scholarship Fund, annually advises our investment management firm to adopt selective investment strategies that utilize socially conscious investment options that focus on environmental, social, and corporate governance criteria.
