Directors: The Opus Audition Information Form DOES NOT need to be turned into the ACDA office. This is for your own use to collect the student’s personal info in order to create their audition profile in Opus. If you choose to use the Google Form, you will need to “make a copy” and rename it so that the responses will be accessible by you.

Tips for Recording

  • Be certain to record in the correct key. See details below for each choir/voice part.
  • Record separate tracks for Song and Scale.
  • Note tempo markings as indicated.
  • DO NOT announce name, grade, voice part, or school. (Singers are assigned a blind audition ID number within Opus.)
  • One starting pitch may be given. Avoid assisting with pitch or tempo in any way during the recording.
  • Record in a quiet room. Avoid background noise, other verbal comments, “live” acoustical room and sound bleed from other rooms.
  • Do not use reverb or other pitch/tonal enhancements.
  • Save recording as mp3 format.
  • Take time to re-record as needed.
  • Audition Rubric: download ACDA-MN Honor Choir audition rubric.
