APPLICATION FOR CONCERT PERFORMANCES
APPLICATIONS RECEIVED
- On-line applications submitted through Opus Event
ITEMS NEEDED TO APPLY ON OPUS EVENT
- Personal member and institutional contact information
- ACDA member number and expiration date
- Upload via mp3 format two contrasting recordings, including optional virtual performance files, from ANY of the last three academic years.
- Upload via pdf, programs representing each recording
- Upload via pdf, Administrative Certificate of Approval to apply/appear at the Conference
SELECT PERFORMANCE OPTIONS
- ___25 minute performance
- ___15 minute performance
RECORDING SPECIFICATIONS
- Must be recorded in mp3 format
- Submit complete selections only
- Total recording time should be between 5 and 10 minutes
- Show Choirs are required to upload a video recording demonstrating 3 contrasting selections
APPLICATION SCHEDULE
- June 1 – Uploaded application items and recordings entered via Opus Event
- July 1 – Director notification via phone or email message from Conference Chair
ELIGIBILITY
- Conductor must be a current member of ACDA, and employed in the same position for the last three academic years.
- ACDA does not assume any financial responsibility for travel, food, or lodging. A transportation grant from the FMC Endowment Fund will be available to assist with some transportation expenses. Separate application due by August 15.
- The application implies that the choir is prepared to travel to and perform at the conference if selected.
- If selected, Conductor will receive a one-day complimentary Conference registration on the day of the performance. Â Conductor may opt to register for the second day at the regular posted rates.
- In the interest of fairness, ACDA reserves the right to select ensembles that have not recently been scheduled on conference programs.
- Failure to comply with these requirements will automatically disqualify the application.
- ACDA reserves the right to approve any applications for appearances and to edit all materials proposed for distribution.
APPLICATION FOR CLINIC PERFORMANCES
We welcome applications for all levels of choral singing, particularly from emerging auditioned or non-auditioned ensembles, and from smaller school and/or developing programs at the elementary, middle, junior high or high school level. Â It is our goal to balance clinic sessions with choirs of diverse backgrounds that will provide our audience a unique opportunity to learn a variety of successful teaching strategies offered by our master clinicians.
